Quick answer: you cannot check an IESCO bill online by CNIC, name or meter number through any official channel. The official PITC IESCO bill page works with only two inputs: your 14-digit reference number or your Customer ID. If you have neither, IESCO offices can find your bill using your CNIC, address and meter number.

Searches like "IESCO bill check by CNIC", "IESCO bill by name" and "IESCO bill meter number se check" are very common, and many websites claim to offer them. Here is what is actually possible in 2026.

How the official IESCO bill check works

All IESCO duplicate bills come from the Power Information Technology Company (PITC) system, the same system used by the other government-owned DISCOs. On the IESCO bill page you can choose:

  • Reference No: 14 digits, usually followed by a letter such as U or R.
  • Customer ID: a separate number printed on the same bill.

There is no CNIC, name, address or meter number field. Our IESCO bill check page uses the same official source.

Why there is no CNIC or name search

A bill shows a person's name, address, consumption and payment history. If anyone could search by name or CNIC, strangers could pull up other people's details. That is why the official system only opens a bill when you know the number printed on it.

Where your CNIC is used

Your CNIC still matters for IESCO consumers, just not for viewing a bill:

  • Occupant CNIC registration: IESCO's website links to PITC's "Electricity Consumer's CNIC Number Registration" page at mnr.pitc.com.pk. You enter your reference number first, then the occupant's name, CNIC, mobile number and supporting documents. The page notes that this changes the occupant CNIC only; for a change of ownership you must visit a Customer Facilitation Centre or revenue office.
  • Subsidy (QR code) verification: protected consumers are asked to register through the QR code on their bill. See our IESCO bill QR code subsidy guide.
  • Office visits: staff will ask for your CNIC before giving a duplicate bill or handling a complaint.

No reference number? Do this instead

  1. Find an old bill, photo or payment receipt. Any one of them has the reference number. Payment apps usually keep it in transaction history.
  2. Use the Customer ID if you have it but not the reference number.
  3. Call 118, IESCO's helpline, with the connection holder's name, full address and CNIC ready.
  4. Visit the office. Take your CNIC, full address and the meter number to your sub-division office or nearest Customer Facilitation Centre. They can print a duplicate bill.

Step-by-step details are in how to find a lost IESCO reference number. Office numbers are in our IESCO office directory.

Where to find the meter number

The meter number is printed on the meter itself, and it is also shown on your bill. If you are going to the office without a bill, take a clear photo of the meter and its label. That is often enough for staff to trace the connection along with your address.

A warning about "IESCO bill by CNIC" websites and apps

Some unofficial websites and apps ask for your CNIC and mobile number and promise to show your bill. They cannot reach any official CNIC search, because none is public. At best they show nothing useful; at worst they collect personal data.

In May 2026 the Power Division publicly warned consumers about fake links and QR codes that steal personal information under the name of electricity subsidies, including requests for a six-digit code. Follow these rules:

  • Only enter bill details on bill.pitc.com.pk, iesco.com.pk or other pitc.com.pk pages linked from IESCO's website.
  • Never share an OTP or verification code with a caller or a WhatsApp contact.
  • Never pay anyone to "find" or "register" your bill.

Checking whether the bill is paid

Once you have your bill open, you can also see whether a payment has been recorded. See check if your electricity bill is paid and our guide to IESCO bill history and paid status.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I check my IESCO bill with my CNIC number?

Not online through any official channel. The PITC IESCO bill page searches only by reference number or Customer ID. Your CNIC is used for things like occupant CNIC registration and subsidy verification, not for finding a bill.

Can I check an IESCO bill by the name on the bill?

No. There is no official name search, which also protects your address and details from strangers. Use the reference number, Customer ID, or visit your IESCO office.

Can I check an IESCO bill by meter number?

Not online. Take the meter number, your CNIC and the full address to your sub-division office or a Customer Facilitation Centre, where staff can search their records and give you a duplicate bill.

Why should I avoid sites that offer IESCO bill by CNIC?

They cannot access an official CNIC search, and some collect CNIC numbers, phone numbers and OTPs. The Power Division has also warned the public about fake electricity subsidy links. Only enter details on official pitc.com.pk and iesco.com.pk pages.

What is the quickest official way to check my IESCO bill?

Enter your 14-digit reference number or Customer ID on the PITC IESCO bill page, or use billhelp.pk's IESCO page, which takes you to the official bill.
